The JFAT implementation (http://jnode.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/jnode/trunk/fs/src/fs/org/jnode/...) has various performance problems. A sever problem is at the creation of files with long file name in directories containing many files. This problem is easily visible during the decompression of jar files to a JFAT based partition under JNode.
