for me it looks too much like the WinXP click / point / much colored stuff, i like it clear and useable (maybe its because i startet with a C64 and later on 486 with DOS) therefor my WinXP looks more like Win2000 and i mostly use mnemonics and shortcuts...

maybe its just because i'm student of information science and its the same thing with writing study related stuff with latex...

I started like you did with c64 but after many borring hours of programming at work some colors cant relax the eye. I like it a lot..

as student, writing about JNode, for me it is work, so my all in all time in front of my pc is probably shorter than yours...
