gc reports Memory Size=physical RAM before running startawt, 4GB when back in shell.

When I boot, the first command I run is gc which shows my Memory Size as the amount of physically installed RAM, and reasonable looking free memory numbers.

If I start AWT, then quit back to the shell, another gc command shows Memory size as 4GB, but the free memory numbers still look normal.

This behavior is consistent and repeatable.
