System Thread (ID 512)

Hi,
what does the System thread (id: 512)?
I wrote a kill command and killed the thread, but no strange behavior occured.

System thread

The system thread eventually becomes the thread that runs the shell and if that exists, it reboot/halts the machine.

If you kill it, i would suspect that the shell is not longer active.

I killed it and the shell responds as usual.
I killed the ps2mous thread and I was no longer able to use the scroll-wheel to scroll the console.

P.S.:I think the kill command works.
