just a quick note that when i tried to use the boot cd (0.2.2) on my mini-itx system I got the message "Processor has PSE support. halt..."

This is misleading as the problem seems to be that my processor DOESN'T have PSE support.

So the messages in CPU32.asm should be changed to
"Processor has no PSE support. halt..."
and
"Processor has no FPU support. halt..."

fixed.
