SFTP

Well, I was looking around the net at different Java applications, seeing what might be cool to implement into JNode, and I thought, what about adding FTP, or SFTP

Then we could run JNode as a Server 0.0

I also saw some libraries for SSH which would be need for SFTP

Dev Tools

Hey all,

First of all, great project. Was really excited to see it out there and looks like it would be very interesting to work on.

I've seen the debugger shell thing while running it, but being used to my nice little world running/debugging/profiling applications in IntelliJ/OptimizeIt it would be hard to transition into development using only that and System.out type logging. But this isn't a request for software, I'm up for writing part of a toolchain for platform development (unless there's something else out there?). Had a few questions after reviewing the code though.

-Is there anything describing where the hand-offs are between bytecode and compiled code at run time? There are a lot of assembly classes, ClassLoaders and whatnot, but not being able to debug I can't quite see the line between compile- and run-time. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

vbox

Some of you might allready have heard of it. But lately it got much attention by the press.
vbox is a new virtualisation application much like vmware or VirtualPC. Though imho vbox has some nice additional features, especially the backend/frontend concept allows easy usage in headless mode,... Also it's opensource, GPL even, with irc dev channel and all that stuff Smiling

I tested JNode on it, and it is working. Though there are still some small drawbacks:
1. Only VGA graphics in JNode atm, _but_ vbox supports vbe3 Smiling
2. Network is working, but seems to have some random strange issues in setting IP/dhcp doesn't work.

Swing in JNode

So what the status on implementing Swing into JNode?

If there is not status, then what has to been done to at least start it?

waht about java

i saw that jnode is using the gnu classpath at lees is what i'm watching on the left side
and the incompatibility of these with sun java

why not use the sun java now is open ????

if the license is a problem
why not use then the Apache Harmony that is more compatible with sun java up to 95%

a dont now if there is a problem with the license of apache

sorry by my english
