Integrate Squawk technologies into JNode

I suggest the authors of JNode look into Squawk which was recently open-sourced by Sun: https://squawk.dev.java.net/

It includes an architecture for writing device drivers in Java and other components that might interest you. You could merge your efforts.

Pure Java Browser: Lobo

There is a pure Java web browser being built that seems to be getting enough features to be viable. It's name is Lobo and it is GPL'ed.

See lobobrowser.org.

It would make sense to use this as a standard browser implementation for a JNode distribution.

Java USB Drivers

Hi,

I don't know if JNode has USB drivers already or not, but today I found something: jUSB http://jusb.sourceforge.net/

maybe you can make something out of it!

Siegfried

the look of all gui

What is the one thing every system has in common the GUI there is a bar with icons and a such. but have you ever been to those websites about movies with the greatest Fake GUI interface, or have you watched tv and said "wish my desktop acted like that" Well I then say why not here. make that web line point of view transion that poeple see when the tv star moves throu the system. Or you could watch any hack movie and get thousands of idea that with java are possiable. I am very favorable too the X-men website system that they constructed for the movies. I know it might be a bit graphicly challenging but if you can bring too the table a new style you will make a splash so high that microsoft will attempt to copy you. don't look like everyone else look better...

Network Roadmap to Jnode 1.0?

Howdy,
As talk gears up for 0.2.6 release, and with the continued work in the java-net source branch, it's hard to know where to start or what to prioritize.

So, I'll just ask.

What is the roadmap for Jnode-Net from 0.2.6 to 1.0.0?
What parts of the net/ tree are everyone happy with for 1.0.0 release now?
What parts do people think need the most work?
What are the plans to merge the java-net branch into the trunk?

My thoughts are this:
Jnode-Net exists to provide services/interfaces/software for 4 distinct groups of "users":
* The OS itself, in the form of of discovering, configuring, controlling, securing, stopping network devices, protocols, and applications, (udpout, anyone?)
