How hard would it be to port the JNode core (or at least the hardware access to a Pocket PC?

I ran across something called PocketLinux (not defunct) that was intended to replace Windows CE with a Java OS... I thought (Oh Yes!) and immedialy thought of JNode.

If any java os could do it, I bet a JNode port would be the best candidate.

Thanks to HP for supporting Linux development on the IPAQ, and it means the information to do it is availible.

Is anyone else interested in running JNode on a handheld?

JNode is now present on planet classpath.

How to run JNode as GUI ?

Working on making the ant command work I found that it seems like we miss a java based javac (doing trying to compile a java file with a build.xml file under JNode). Does any of you have a url to a open source java based javac, so fare I haven't found one?

This release has taken way too much time, but is finally here!
It contains lots of changes on many areas of JNode. Most important changes are about the massive improvements of the GUI and the Classpath runtime library.
Besides these changes, a lot of changes have to to with the inner workings of the JNode virtual machine.

To make it easier to try JNode, this release comes with a VMWare player configuration file. Install VMWare player, download the compressed iso image, uncompress it, download the VMX file and run it.
